Q: What is your retail background? 

I’ve been the Shop Manager/Buyer at the Akron Art Museum Shop since 2007.

Q: What was the draw of working in a museum setting? 

The Akron Art Museum is a gem. I was attracted by its stunning architecture, its impressive collection of contemporary art and its reputation as a cultural destination in the community. I was eager to apply my retail skills in such an interesting, culturally rich environment.

Q: Do you have a favorite artist?

I love it when customers show me their creations on their phones. As humans, we have this really cool opportunity to live a creative life. So my favorite artist is the person who, inspired by their museum experience, chooses to share their personal creative experience with me.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you could offer someone new to retail? 

Retail offers endless possibilities, so be adventurous and try new things.
