Cupcake Shop Bursting With Business

Houma, LA – Two and a half years ago a prominent local businessman tried a cupcake prepared by Eve Melancon.
His first reaction was uttering “OMG”, shorthand for oh my goodness. His second was to tell the mother-daughter team to turn their cupcakes into a business, backing the start-up with an undisclosed amount of financing.
Melancon, along with her daughter Bryana Harding and daughter-in-law Kristie Melancon, opened OMG Cupcake Factory in September 2012 at 9676 E. Main St., Houma The trio opened their second location in November, on Houma’s west side, a spanking new strip mall storefront to appease customers who have loyally crossed the Intracoastal Waterway to get their fix on one of OMG’s 40 daily flavors of cupcakes.
