‘Shop Local’ Perk: Property Tax Breaks in Voorhees

Voorhees, NJ – The “shop local” movement — a “big box detox” for consumers — is gaining popularity, with the goal of supporting local businesses.
In Voorhees, township officials have launched a program that further entices residents to shop in town: property tax credits.
The first of its kind in South Jersey, Shop Voorhees allows a portion of a resident’s purchasing dollars spent on goods and services in the township to be applied to individual property tax bills.
