Like any gift boutique, Bliss Unlimited has artfully arranged its colorful handmade baskets and gemstone bracelets to entice browsers to buy.

But if customers linger a while, they will realize purpose trumps profit at this shop in the Burbank Town Center.

Bliss Unlimited is staffed only by teenagers, creating a kind of business boot-camp to teach them about customer service, retail economics and work ethic.

And profits from the store are donated to We Care for Youth, a nonprofit agency that works to build strong character and self-esteem among local teens.
