Staten Island, NY – Michael “Pocketbooks” Spence has developed a reputation on Staten Island for two reasons: He’s a successful entrepreneur and he makes shopping “fun.”
For nine years Spence has been greeting purse enthusiasts with his entertaining personality. Now, he’s hoping to achieve success with a new boutique, which is a trendy clothing, accessory, craft — and of course, pocketbook — shop in West Brighton.
“I’m not what you would call a ‘fashion person;’ I’m nowhere near that,” said Spence, whose first shop was at the former Big Apple Flea Market in Mariners Harbor nearly a decade ago.
