Las Vegas Design Center and ASID recognize ANDYZ Award Winners

Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) and the California Central/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) have announced the 11 winners of the annual ANDYZ design awards, which spotlight the year’s best projects from the Western interior design community. The winners were announced at the ANDYZ Awards ceremony at held in-person at Las Vegas Market, Aug. 22, 2021. “West Coast design is thriving as evidenced by the immense talent of these ANDYZ Awards winners,” said Cain Brodie, general manager for LVDC. “As the hub for the latest high-quality and fashion-forward furnishings and accessories for the west, the LVDC and Las Vegas Market is proud to be a part of the celebration of these design talents.”

ANDYZ Award Winners by Category

For 2021, ten design firms and one student are winners in ten ANDYZ Award categories, with two winners named in Best Outdoor Design:

Best Bathroom Design

Best Student Design

Alex Tsung | Fresno State University, Fresno, California Alex Tsung, 2021 ANDYZ Award winner The ANDYZ Awards, named to bear a resemblance to Annual Nevada Design, were created in 2015 to recognize exceptional design from designers, design firms and students.

Judging Criteria

Interior design projects in residential, commercial, hospitality and student categories were judged by a panel of ASID board members and by an editorial member from media sponsor Furniture, Lighting and Décor, on five main criteria:
  • Presentation
  • Innovation/creative use of space
  • Scale and functionality
  • Aesthetics
  • Overall execution
The 2021 ANDYZ Awards Celebration took place on Sunday, August 22 in the WorldView on 16 at World Market Center Las Vegas. Two west coast tastemakers, Christopher Grubb, designer, and Julia Molloy, founder and editor-in-chief for BOLD by Design Magazine, served as masters of ceremony for the event. Attendees mixed and mingled with honorees and event sponsors.
