Local Shop Celebrates 35 Years

Barrington, RI – Maple Avenue mainstay Daisy Dig’ins turns 35 this month and owner Lois Coppolino is holding a “surprise celebration” to honor the milestone next week.

Ms. Coppolino first opened the store in 1977 after graduating from Roger Williams University. She finished college with a teaching degree, though a classroom position was hard to come by. Ms. Coppolino turned to life as a local business owner after attending floral school in Boston and receiving some words of encouragement on her design skills.

“A friend of mine owned a store in another part of the state,” Ms. Coppolino said.

“She said ‘you’re talented. You should open your own.'”
