When she’s done, the simple piece of fruit is transformed into a decadent dessert, enveloped in caramel, chocolate and whatever strikes her fancy. Chocolate chips. Crushed cookies. Peanuts. White chocolate.
On a recent Wednesday afternoon, Lain was busy in the kitchen of her new confectionery, The Bonbonnier, tap, tap, tapping sticks into the tart apples, a large pot of golden caramel warming nearby.
