New downtown store, 3 Monkeys, grand opening Friday

Store owners Kathy Reynolds, Bill Thommason and Sallye Rich hope to fill a niche downtown with the grand opening Friday of their new shop, 3 Monkeys Fine Gifts.

Located at 133 Laurens St. N.W., next door to Caroline’s Boutique, 3 Monkeys will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The partners have been working toward the opening since late January.

“My wife used to own Four Generations, that was antiques, gifts and home accessories, and I learned some from her.

“Then there was a store I had here, Carriage House Gifts, which I closed about a year ago,” said Thommason. “When Kathy and Sallye and I started talking about this, they had been working in retail around town for years and had been helping me at the Red Pepper Cafe.
