Heylee’s Collections Offers Different Accessories for the109

Fort Worth, TX – From playing violin to owning her own store, Chi Oh is a woman who wears many hats.

A native Korean who moved to Texas eight years ago, Oh is the proud owner of Heylee’s Collections, an accessory store that opened recently at 2813 W. Berry St.

Oh moved from Pohang, Korea, to Dallas in 2005 and has always dreamed of opening her own store next to a college campus. She attended Yeungnam University in Taegu, Korea.

“It is common in Korea to have gift shops and girly stuff around campuses,” she said.

K Bella Boutique Brings Sustainable Gifts to Haddon Ave.

Collingswood, NJ – Collingswood is known throughout South Jersey as a restaurant-first town, so when a new retail business opens in the borough, it’s something to celebrate.

K Bella boutique, which opened on Haddon Avenue in mid-February, also retails ethically sourced gifts and apparel, an approach that fits right in with the sustainability-focused community.

The shop is the brainchild of Gloucester Township resident Karen DiBlasi and West Deptford’s Katie Duffield—the K’s in “K Bella.”

Punch Studio Acquires Lady Jayne, Ltd

Todd Kirshner, CEO of Punch Studio, based in Culver City, CA, announced today the acquisition of certain assets of Lady Jayne, Ltd.

Lady Jayne, formerly based in Cypress, CA, is a key supplier of gift and stationery products with a broad market penetration in specialty gift stores under their Lily McGee brand and in major retail chains which feature their Lady Jayne brand.

Punch Studio, formerly known as Michel & Company, is a premier gift and stationery manufacturer which was founded in 1970 by the artist Michel Bernstein and her partner, Dan Neuhar.

Colored Chocolates are Staggs’ Passion

Broken Bow, NE – One of Broken Bow’s newest shops carries something that is found in only a handful of store fronts across the country — full color chocolate.

Simply Sweet Crafts and Gifts opened in the Arrow Mini Mall in January. Owner Michele Staggs said making colored chocolate candy is her passion.

She owns about 1,200 candy molds and offers a variety of flavors for her candy arrangements at no additional charge. Graduation and Mother’s Day arrangements should be her next big sellers, but she can make arrangements for every occasion.

After falling in love with the state while visiting, Sharyn and her husband, Jim, couldn’t stop thinking about returning to the changing leaves and rolling hills.

Shop Brings a Bit of Britain to Old Colorado City

Colorado Springs, CO – In the late 1800s, Colorado Springs’ many British tourists and settlers earned the town the nickname of “Little London.”

Susan and Peter Holdman are revitalizing the city’s roots with the opening of Willy’s Emporium, 2423 W. Colorado Ave. The British shop, which opened this week, specializes in teas, trinkets and treats from the United Kingdom.

Images of the Union Jack and the phrase “Keep Calm and Carry On” adorn the store, which features products from Britain, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Looking to Grow From Beach to Boutique

Charlotte, NC – Growing up, Susan Grady always wanted to open her own store. While she’s not quite there yet, the Blakeney resident is well on her way to making it happen.

Grady opened her own booth – Tides of Cape Cod – at BLACKLION Charlotte, 10635 Park Road. It features many different foods and products from her hometown in Virginia. The booth opened last month, and business has taken off with more than 10 vendors on the waiting list to be featured.

“It was kind of a thought that came to me while I was sitting with a friend of mine,” Grady said.

UK – A councillor has called for backing for the idea of a “Small Business Saturday” to celebrate and encourage consumers to shop at small local shops.

Councillor Margaret Pattison says “Small Business Saturday” would be used to encourage people to shop at independent businesses in their local area.

It would be promoted through local and regional authorities, local trade associations and business bodies, events showcasing small businesses’ contribution to their local economies and through online, national, regional and local media.
