Kimberly Cole of Weston Opens New Boutique

Weston, CT – Kimberly Cole adored shopping at Lala, a lifestyle boutique that carried luxurious Indian fabrics, when she lived in Laguna Beach, Calif.

So now that Ms. Cole, her husband, Charlie, and their family have settled down in Weston on the East Coast, she has decided to bring a little Laguna flair with her.

Ms. Cole recently opened KC Westport, a bedding, clothing and gift boutique at 68 Church Lane in Westport.

Support Growing for Shopping Local in South Valley

Hanford, CA – The Hanford cash mob launched as a way to bring in new business for stores in the downtown area.

The cash mob focused for day on a specific shop in downtown Hanford. It was in an effort to increase business and bring awareness of locally owned businesses.

Saturday’s inaugural event brought in dozens of new customers to a local tea house. Inside the L.T. Sue Company Tea Emporium, a steady stream of fresh brewed tea was served to the Hanford cash mob supporters.

Devoted to Their Business

Acadiana, LA – Marie Garrett and her son, Art Garrett III, owe their success to faith.

This month their store, Acadiana Religious & Gift Shop, celebrated 50 years serving the Christian community and selling Bibles, gifts and rosaries.

“It just amazes the faithfulness in this area. They’ve got so much faith, and it’s wonderful for us,” Marie Garrett, 83, said. She and her family are among the faithful and been parishioners of St. Mary Mother of the Church since the church came into existence in the 1970s.

Ocean Springs, MS – When shoppers enter the front door at Klassy Komplements in downtown Ocean Springs, they are greeted by owner Lynn Lott’s two pooches, Bella and Sophie.

“My two pups bring the people in,” Lott said. “Shoppers love them.”

Located at 700 Washington Ave., Klassy Komplements is a specialty gift boutique that sells women’s apparel, gifts with a coastal theme, local art and knickknacks.

“We sell fun, whimsical gifts,” Lott said.

St. Benedict Expanding With Shop Across Street

Johsnstown, PA – For years, leaders at St. Benedict Church have had plenty of ideas for their surrounding campus.

But most of those plans required space – ­a luxury the church and its Catholic school have little of on their Geistown lot.

That has changed in recent months. The acquisition of more than 4 acres across the street will add a Catholic gift shop, church parking and perhaps more, said the Rev. David S. Peles, St. Benedict pastor.

Couple Opens Second Gift Shop in Same Street in Beaconsfield

Beaconsfield, UK – HIGH street chains seem to be dropping like flies at the moment, but a gift shop in Beaconsfield has defied the doom and gloom by opening a second store… in the same street.

Mike and Sheena Adams have made the bizarre move after struggling to find bigger premises for their shop Temptation – which has been serving New Town shoppers for 25 years.

The new shop is just seven doors up from the other on Station Road and the Amersham couple, both 59, have split the stock between the two, with one for gifts and the other for specialist cards.

Shop at Home: Chamber Launches Campaign
