Past the women’s trendy scarves and stretchy tunics, behind the Gund peek-a-boo bears, vibrant wallets and fashionable keychains, and beyond the greeting cards and temptations of chocolate-covered pretzels, is the back room—now called the Balloon Shop—which is home to many Mylar favorites, and it’s also where Manning keeps enough sale ideas to fill a small truck.
Mother and Daughters Open Oliver Springs Gift Shop
Oliver Springs, TN – An Oliver Springs family wanted a place close by where they could shop for gifts so they opened their own store.
“It’s just something we’ve always loved and always been interested in so it’s just a dream come true for us,” Sheila Johnson said.
Depending on who you ask, it took either 5 years or 7 years for that dream to become an actual store in Oliver Springs.
“This came open and available in our community which was our main goal is making our community the best that it can be and offering awesome things for the people who live here,” Ashlee Korte sai
Global Craft Acquires World Shoppe
Global Crafts, an Edgewater, FL-based fair trade wholesale company, has acquired World Shoppe, LLC, a Chicago-based importer of jewelry and greeting cards handmade by women artisans from South Africa.
The move was based on Karydes’ decision to focus more of her work on her consulting business, Karydes Consulting, which provides marketing communications services to socially-conscious business as well as writing services for both consumer and trade magazines.
All of the items in the World Shoppe collection are 100 percent fair trade.
