Fenton USA Introduces New 2012 “Made in America” Beads and Teardrop Earrings
Fenton USA has just introduced more than 30 new designs in its line of Made in America glass beads and Teardrop Earrings. In addition to new handpainted designs, this new collection includes Aurora, Glassato, Three Dimensional, and Vasa Murrhina beads.
Aurora beads feature swirls of color and gold to create a shimmering aura. Glassato beads are created from sparkling coralene glass that is melted into multihued beads. Vasa Murrhina is a Fenton Art Glass treatment from the 1970s that lives again in wearable art.

Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market Delivers Double-Digit Increase in Attendance
For the third year in a row, the Gift+Home show at Winter Las Vegas Market 2012, held January 30-February 3, far exceeded expectations with strong traffic and sales created by an uptick in consumer confidence, scores of new gift vendors and a surge in gift retailers.
Market officials reported a 22 percent increase in gift buyer attendance over Winter 2011.

Working on the First Coast: Catholic Store Offering Inspiration
Jacksonville, FL – With today being Ash Wednesday, the launch of the Lenten season leading to Easter is here, which means business for Queen of Angels Catholic Store.
The shop specializes in religious gifts, books and jewelry. It has been in business for about 10 years, the last eight under the ownership of Maureen Gallavan and her husband. She oversees three employees at the shop at 11018 Old St. Augustine Road in the Mandarin Central shopping center.
The 66-year-old Gallavan said she throws her life into the Roman Catholic store.
Mustard Tin opening March 1 in St. Lawrence Centre
Massena, NY – After eight years of traveling around St. Lawrence County trying to find a home for her business, Linda Dalton has returned to Massena and the St. Lawrence Centre mall.
“I’ve been in business with the Mustard Tin for eight years, and I’ve been in many locations,” Ms. Dalton said. “I’ve been in little towns all over, and I decided I might as well open in the mall.”
The Mustard Tin is a gift shop selling primitive-style decor items such as candles, tarts and tart warmers, signs, garlands, lamps, night lights, wreaths, pottery, stars and potpourri.

New Toy Store Opens In Westhampton Beach
Westhampton Beach, NY – A new toy store, called Mother Goose Toys, has opened in the former Beach Realty storefront at 87 Main Street in Westhampton Beach. The store is a second for owner Alex Dank, of Remsenburg, who has been the proprietor of Mother Goose Toys in Sayville for the past eight years.
“We always wanted to open a second store,” said Dank.
Cooking Up Some Soap in the Factory/Kitchen
St. Anthony, ID – A love of handcrafted soap has morphed into a small business for Amy Grows.
With help from her husband, Walt, son, Casey, and a loyal customer base, the Camas Creek Soap Co. has grown to the break-even stage.
“We’re somewhat self-supporting,” she says during a tour of the company’s factory, supply room and show room – also known as her kitchen and laundry room.
Since the company launched two years ago, she’s sold soap from Island Park to New Zealand and from Spain to the Midwest.

A group of people on a Cleveland, Ohio street corner haven’t been told where they’re going.
They’re part of a Cash Mob, following instructions from Facebook and Twitter to show up and look for the guy in the funny-looking hat.
After a few minutes, the Cash Mob takes over Big Fun Toys, an independent toy and gift store.
North Bend Woman Opens Floral and Design Business
North Bend, NE – First and foremost, Lynda Cerny is a florist.
Like typical businesses in small towns, though, Floral Creations N’ D’Signs at 130 W. Seventh St. in North Bend, wears many hats.
“When I answer the phone I say, ‘Floral Creations,’ but the reason I added N’ D’Signs to the name is because I have a vinyl cutter and I can do wall work and signage,” she said.
