Final Report on Christmasworld, Paperworld and Creativeworld

The trio of consumer-goods fairs in Frankfurt – Christmasworld, Paperworld and Creativeworld 2012 – closed their doors on Tuesday after a run distinguished by increased visitor quality and a large number of international orders. Around 87,000 trade visitors (2011: 87,903, FKM certified1) from 155 countries contributed to the high level of satisfaction among exhibitors.

Work of New Artists Up at Gift Shop

Payson, AZ – After being open less than three months, the artisan shop Crafters Cubbies has added the work of four more local artists.

The shop, at 626 N. Beeline Highway, now has the work of 32 Rim Country artists and crafters for sale. Each artist’s work covers a different area, from knitters, jewelers, scrapbookers to now a scrimshaw, pencil artist and photographer.

Owner Rebecca Acord said her goal for the shop is to offer a place for local artists to sell their wares and give residents a place to pick up a one-of-a-kind gift or collectible.

Poulsbo’s Saisons Boutique Blooms With the Seasons

Poulsbo, WA – Buying a retail shop in the middle of a recession would seem like a risky move, but for Erin Whitson, lack of guarantees was nothing unusual. Whitson and her husband, Dick, have been self-employed nearly their entire careers.

After 24 years as a Realtor on Bainbridge Island, Whitson wanted a change of scenery.

“I was getting burned out and I wanted something that would uplift my soul,” she said.

Buyers Crowd World Market Center Winter Session

Las Vegas, NV – Expect to see more gift items coming out of the Las Vegas Market in the future.

As the furnishings design industry descended on the World Market Center for opening day of the winter 2012 Las Vegas Market, center CEO Bob Maricich said the fastest-growing segment is gifts.

Nationally, home gifts is a $60 billion industry, and Maricich sees an opportunity to add to the Las Vegas Market’s product mix, which is heavy with furniture, sleep products and home decor.
