Lilypad to provide unique gift items
The Lilypad, A Unique Boutique, owned by Cindy Kressin, has an assortment of products for little ones but will be making a big entrance during it’s grand opening in Breckenridge May 1.
The new boutique is located in the old Breckenridge style shop at 117 N. 5th St. and will be a place for residents to shop for one-of-a-kind items for babies, toddlers, teenagers and adults.
Iota To Unveil 2008 Collection at National Stationery Show
Basalt, Colo. — Iota is pleased to announce its brand new collection for 2008. Nine new signature iota patterns will adorn paper goods including folded notecards, boxed notecard sets, gift wrap, journals, gift tags, notebooks and more. A selection of these new iotas will be printed on recycled papers. New northeast gift shop: Etcetera
Longtime gift-shop owner June Sepkowitz has expanded her operations and added a second store.
But experts say adding a second location is one of the toughest moves an entrepreneur can make.
Sepkowitz, who founded West Side gift store The Carriage House in early 1997 and has owned and operated it since then, opened her second store, which she’s calling Etcetera, on April 14 at 4242 Hondo Pass, Suite 113, at U.S.
Home furnishing shop opens at Centerra
Cozy Cottage, a home furnishing and gift shop, opened Thursday at The Promenade Shops at Centerra.
The locally owned business is a country store with an antique flair. It sells a combination of new and antique home and garden decor.
Owner Tammy Ahlquist used to own Annie’s Country Store, 409 N. Railroad Ave., which was open from 1993 to 1998, with her family in Loveland.
“I’ve missed (owning a business) tremendously since we closed Annie’s,” Ahlquist said.

Mother’s Day Gift Spending: This Year, Less is More
84 percent of US consumers will celebrate Mother’s Day, but most will scale back on number of gifts and instead purchase one major gift.
Participating consumers will spend $138.63 ($0.51 less than last year) on average, according to the National Retail Federation, MarketingCharts writes.
“Mom has been saying for decades that it’s the thought that counts on Mother’s Day, and this year kids might actually be listening,” said NRF President and CEO Tracy Mullin.

Tring shop to close after 10 years
A Tring shop will close its doors for the last time this summer after more than 10 years of trading in the town.
However, the owners of Benellie, a speciality food and gift shop, say they are looking to the future with enthusiasm.
Mel Matthews, co-owner of the store with good friend Deb Grigg, said: “10 years is a long time to do something and we have had so much fun.

With many consumers about to receive tax rebates worth hundreds of dollars, a handful of retail chains are dangling discounts and promotions to try to get people to spend their checks in the companies’ stores.
As consumer spending slows, these retailers have hit on a marketing pitch: We’ll make your tax rebate go further.
