Richard Morgan Turned a Downtown Shop into a 45-Year-Old Shopping Destination

Durham, NC – Julie McMurray crouched just above Morgan Imports’ wood floors constructing a world out of about a dozen carefully selected and positioned figurines.
Oblivious to the post-Christmas sale and all the other happenings in the store with 25 departments that range from kitchen and dining to gag gifts and children’s clothing, Julie, 8, concentrated on arranging 5- to 10-inch knights, saints and princes on horses and various ladies in waiting.
“I just like making little worlds,” said Julie, through ginger-colored curls that kept getting in her way.
