Staten Island, NY – Native Staten Islander Jillian Monitello, 23, was 13 months old when she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic lung disease.
Growing up, she would get lung infections and very often found herself on heavy doses of antibiotics.
At age 11, she contracted cystic fibrosis-related diabetes.
