Downtown Welcomes New Boutique, Teja’s
Selma, AL – Selma welcomed another location for residents to find accessories, fashions and gifts, Monday, with the grand opening of Teja’s on Broad Street.
The location that used to be home to Truax & Co., has now been renovated and taken over by shop owner Kateja Schmitt.
“You can see that the colors are different, and also you’ll find that the arrangement and layout of the products are different,” Schmitt said, pointing to the vibrant purple wall that now separates Teja’s from the back of the space, which is still connected and owned by Butler Truax Jewlers.

Duluth, GA – Inheriting her grandmother’s treadle sewing machine led to a lifetime interest in collecting old things for Beverly Norris.
“I started as a kid collecting objects,” she said. “I’ve always loved it.”
Norris learned to sew on her grandmother’s machine and later took sewing in home economics in high school.

In the summer of 2010, brothers Joey and Chris Jenco partnered to start their own business — a candy store. After two years of planning, Jenco Brothers’ Candy opened at 224 W. McMillan St. in February.
Newcomer Takes Reins of Cherished Downtown Store

Former teacher Julie Herlong said she knew she belonged in the shop when she heard that longtime downtown business owner Naomi Warner was looking to retire early from Naomi & Warner Gift Shop this year.

Purple Frog Gift Shop Hops Into Downtown Ridgefield
Ridgefield, CT – It took Emma Hardiman and her family nine months to put together the idea, make the contacts and open the new store, Purple Frog on Bailey Avenue in Ridgefield.
The store officially opens Friday, April 26, but because Hardiman has never owned a store before, she thought it might be good to open her doors a little early to get some practice before the weekend.
Hardiman and her family moved to Ridgefield when her husband’s job transferred him to New York. They knew Ridgefield was the place for them the first time they drove through Main Street, she said.

Children’s Craft Studio, Retail Shop Coming to Fanwood Crossing This June
Fanwood, NJ – Fanwood residents Amy and Demian Boroff will be opening Fanwood Crossing’s second business Be Craftful at 250 South Avenue, this June.
The part craft studio, part retail shop dons a tagline “Create, Gift, Giggle” and is a place where you can go with your kids, Amy Boroff said.
“There’s definitely a lack of places you can go with your kids, ” Amy said of Fanwood. “This is what we’ve been needing.”
