Indianapolis Interior Designer Chip Kalleen will Design Artisan Rooms at Annual Marketplace

Chip Kalleen, ASID, owner of Indianapolis-based Kalleen & Co., will lend his design talent to give guests at the third annual Indiana Artisan Marketplace a new experience: room settings showcasing furnishings and décor by Indiana’s highest-quality artists.

Kalleen will design two spaces – a dining room and bathroom – at the Marketplace, the state’s premier art and food experience.

Deer Park Gift Store is a Family Affair

Deer Park, NY – After 15 years of doing business in Smithtown, Briscoe Giftbox owner Stacey Eisenberg chose to relocate closer to home in the 1990s. Since then, the Deer Park gift shop has branched out with a second location in West Babylon.

We recently spoke with Eisenberg to learn a little more about what her shops have to offer.

The Antique Whisperer Country Store in East Greenwich Offers Unique Gifts and Home Decor

Swedesboro, NJ – Emily Hogan has loved antiques since the 1970s.

She started her first antique business in the mid ’80s, but closed up shop when she found out she was going to be a mother.

Later, she opened a small shop in Swedesboro with a partner until her partner had to back out. It was at that moment that Hogan decided she was going to pursue her dream.

“I decided to go bigger,” she said. “If I was going to be a success, I had to do it big.”

Brookline Landmark: Irving’s Toys and Card Shop

Brookline, MA – Some stores stand the test of time and become iconic landmarks, like Irving’s Toys and Card Shop just outside of Coolidge Corner.

Ethel Weiss, 99, has worked there since January 13, 1939. Having lived in Brookline since 1942, Weiss said it was hard to decide what her fondest memory could be from owning Irvin’s Toys and Card Shop. She sits by the front door with a homemade pin, which says, “I Love My Customers” and offers a warm smile to anyone who walks in the front door.

“I love this job,” Weiss said.
