Gift for Life’s Party for Life Raises Nearly $200,000

The 21st annual event was held on Sunday, January 27, at The Boathouse in Central Park in New York City and welcomed hundreds of industry attendees.

Bloom on Broadway: Cape Boutique Offers More Than Unique Products

Cape Girardeau, MO – Coordinating paint on canvas while sipping wine with a small group of women is not how Michaelyn Ross first envisioned Tuesday nights at Bloom Studio and Gifts, 2121 Broadway, when she purchased the studio and boutique in February 2011.

Since she began hosting “paint parties” with local paint party instructor Brandi Ritter, business has taken after the boutique’s name and bloomed.

Owner, Vicki Fox, said her parents owned a restaurant for 31 years in Sellersville, and when they were looking to retire, she was not in a position to take over the restaurant.

Kitchen Supplies Store Relocating to Larger Facility

Tyler, TX – Dona Halbert’s grandmother taught her to cook when she was 6.

Her first project – a glazed cake – was not a success.

“I can still remember my dad taking a bite, grabbing his glass of iced tea to wash it down and laughing,” she said. “I had overloaded salt apparently, but it did look pretty.”

Mrs. Halbert, 54, of Tyler, still enjoys cooking but doesn’t consider herself a gourmet-style cook.

“I tend to cook more foods that would be comfort food or homestyle,” she said, adding that her husband is a picky eater.
