Trumpette Brings High-end Baby Boutique to Midtown Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – Moms and dads, fashionistas and style mavens, get ready: Trumpette is setting the stage to open its newest location this month in the old Sirlin Photography building at 2020 I St. in Midtown.

Although it is best known for baby socks designed to look like little Mary Jane shoes or Converse high-tops, fashon-forward moms may swoon just a little when they see the entire lineup of high-end designer children’s clothing and accessories that Trumpette founder Jon Stevenson has to offer.

“It’s the best for little ones,” Stevenson said.

Creativity Blossoms in Colusa Store

Colusa, CA – Mitchell Nation was all smiles when he saw his piggy bank.

The 9-year-old Colusa boy had painted the ceramic bank, then it was fired in the kiln on site at the new gift store, Terra Bella, on Market Street.

He came to pick it up on Tuesday.

“I had fun making it. I made it for my dad,” said Nation.

Pets Welcomed in Petoskey

Petosky, MI – Becky Goodman is one of many who consider pets — particularly dogs — good for business.

Goodman, who has a dog of her own, says Petoskey is a pet-friendly city and often sees water bowls outside of businesses if pets want a drink.

“They increase the customers,” said Goodman, downtown director of Petoskey. “If I have my dog and I can’t take him in (the store), I won’t go in. There have been reports where dogs have been left in cars in the summer and died due to the heat.”

Cash Mob Sherwood Targets Odgepodge at Weekend Event

Sherwood, OR – Cash Mob Sherwood took another victim this weekend in Old Town.

More than 50 people arrived at Odgepodge with open wallets around 1 p.m. Saturday to peruse the store’s collectibles, art, antiques and indoor and outdoor decor.

“I loved it!” said Odge Gribble, the store’s founder. “We got people in here that I’ve been trying to get into Old Town for years and years.”

Trade Associates Group, Ltd. (tag) announced that they have contracted for space in the Homestyle showroom at the Summer 2012 Las Vegas Market. Homestyle is located in the World Market Center, Building C, Showroom 696. This will mark a return to Las Vegas for tag who last exhibited at the Las Vegas Market in 2008. The market runs from July 30 to August 3.

Bangor Fiber Artist Named Artist of the Year for Annual Belfast Event

Bangor, ME – A splash of water and the chatter of two employees met Jodi Clayton’s ears as she descended the stairs connecting her art-filled boutique and basement studio. Hovering over a long table, Hannah Todd and Sally Gilbert were hard at work, pouring water over merino wool dragonflies on a silk chiffon scarf, just one step in the nuno felting process required for Clayton’s designs.

Fort Myers, FL – YouTube launched Rochelle Graham into the business world.

It all started innocently enough in 2008 with a personal video blog when Graham, inspired by her husband, Demond Campbell, decided to stop chemically treating her hair with relaxers and let her natural hair grow.
