Yarn Store to Open in Downtown Northfield

Northfield, MN – Knitters and fiber lovers know that oftentimes a project is inspired by the beauty of a skein of yarn. Sometimes it’s the color, the feel of the yarn in the hand or the thought of discovering what the yarn will look like once it’s a finished project.

Longtime knitter Cynthia Gilbertson is no stranger to having yarn inspire her to start something new. But since moving to Northfield two years ago she’s discovered something else: Sometimes another kind of fiber can inspire a new project.

Olin Business School Retail Expert Attributes soaring Sales of Luxury Goods to expanding Personal Wealth in China

St. Louis, MO – Sales of luxury goods, which analysts say could spike as much as eight percent this year, are soaring thanks to expanding personal wealth in China, says a luxury retail expert at Washington University in St. Louis.

“One of the key factors driving global sales of luxury goods is the burgeoning Chinese economy and the concomitant expansion of its affluent classes,” says Martin K. Sneider, adjunct professor of marketing at Olin Business School.

“These people are anxious to demonstrate their successes and newly found wealth,” he says.

Country Ladies Gift Shop Marks 10 Years

Humane Society’s Indian River Mall Store Offers Merchandise, Adoptable Pets

Vero Beach, FL – Shopping for pet merchandise just got easier Monday when the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County opened a 1,664-square-foot retail store at the Indian River Mall.

The store, called “All for Paws,” offers a line of new merchandise and gift items designed especially for pet lovers, according to Phaedra Kohler, director of customer and volunteer services.

“There are a lot of people who say that going to the shelter is a sad experience for them,” said Kohler, who will oversee the shop’s operations.
