Signature CanvasMakers Opens Nautical Shop in Phoebus

Hampton, VA – Signature CanvasMakers celebrated moving into its own building in Phoebus and opening a maritime gift shop in March.

“We moved a whole block,” said Charlene Clark, who owns the marine canvas shop with her husband Chandler.

Chandler Clark of Hampton has been in the canvas-making business since 2005 after he learned how to make and repair sails when he was stationed in New Orleans before he retired as a Navy senior chief. The husband lived aboard a sailboat at a marina for two years while Charlene stayed in Virginia to work for Busch Gardens.

Von Z Boutique Opening Soon in Bucktown

Bucktown, IL – After launching her private clothing line, Cotton Candy Couture, in 2012, Lake View resident Jenna Zielbauer is bringing it to a storefront in Bucktown this summer.

Von Z will celebrate its grand opening Thursday, June 27, will special hours and events to show off the new store, which features women’s apparel, shoes and more. The grand opening celebration, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., will feature raffle prizes, cotton candy and an Instagram contest in which the winner will get a $100 gift card to the store.

Über Boutique Owners to Open Separate Stores in Broad Ripple

Indianapolis, IN – Fans of über boutique in Broad Ripple and Carmel can look forward to the opening of a new Broad Ripple home decor and clothing store.

Heidi Woodman — in another nod to her German heritage — is opening Haus in August at 5901 N. College Ave., the former home of Fox Studios.

Woodman, a former owner of über, decided to branch out to focus on home decor in addition to clothing. She said über owner, Anne Branham will now focus on selling clothing.

Local Antique Dealer Takes Over Wild Rose

Fergus Falls, MN – The little flower shop on the corner has a new home.

Just over a week ago, local antique dealer and businessman Richard “Herby” Herbrandson purchased Wild Rose Floral and Gifts, a popular floral shop in Fergus Falls for 20 years. Over the weekend, Herbrandson moved the shop to its new location at his antique shop, Cascade Antiques north of the railroad tracks on Cascade.

“I thought it over, looked at the books and made a decision pretty quickly,” Herbrandson said. “But I got the people with the business.
