Click Boutique Revives Hattiesburg Downtown Retail District

Hattiesburg, MS – If anyone was at Click Boutique on April 27, 2011, they would have thought they were on the set of the popular AMC series “Mad Men.”

The show is based on a 1960s New York City advertising agency and the mod fashion of the time is a definite source of inspiration for the Hattiesburg women’s clothing store that hosted the masquerade theme party, complete with mock cigarettes, beehive hair and cocktails.

Finding Her Niche

A Sumrall resident, Miller has been doing arts and crafts as a hobby for as long as she can remember.

“I guess I got it from my mom, who is a talented seamstress and always had a crafty side,” Miller said. “I can remember when I was very young, she was a member of a mail-order ‘craft of the month’ club, and I would beg her to help her with whatever craft came that month in the mail.”

Caring Corner

Sidney, MT – Although it began as a Christmas store, the Caring Corner Gift Shop at Sidney Health Center has evolved to be a very unique boutique style store with a good cause.

Started by Kay Ashcraft, the Christmas store was originally run out of a small office but became so popular it quickly grew to offer more than just Christmas stuff.

Kathy Iversen played a huge part in getting the gift shop to where it is now. After managing the store for 17 years, she retired and now continues to volunteer her time at the store. The current manager, Diana Meehan, took over from Iversen.

Overton, NV – The flower shop in downtown Overton has opened again. Now called “The Front Porch”, the little shop opened on Friday, May 10.

The shop is filled with simple country charm. The display shelving is not typical retail fare, but rather it is rustic and homely furniture. The store is filled with simple little surprises; treasures that are on sale as gift items, home decor and fashion accessories.

Rockmart Florist and Gift Shop named as Polk’s Small Business of the Year

Rockmart, AL – Rockmart Florist and Gift Shop was named as the Polk County Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 Small Business of the Year.

The award was presented this morning at a breakfast hosted by the Polk Chamber in the fellowship hall of Cedartown’s First United Methodist Church.

Courtney Leonberger, the owner of Posh Boutique on 40 East Market Street in Corning, New York, definitely had this description in mind when she named her new clothing store.
