The Pink Fund, a public charity founded in 2006 by breast cancer SurThriverTM Molly MacDonald, provides short-term financial aid for breast cancer patients during their active treatment and recovery.

Old Tom Foolery to Unveil Two New Card Collections at the National Stationery Show
Old Tom Foolery, maker of “Unsappy, uncrappy cards and curiosities,” is set to launch a slew of new products at the 2012 National Stationery Show, May 20-‐ 23 in New York City.
The company was lucky enough to team up with gift-‐industry icon Magnetic Poetry to create a colorful new collection of cards—aptly titled The Magnetic Poetry Collection—which features random poems on classic retro refrigerators.

Sign of the Arrow Hosts Volunteer Appreciation Event
Ladue, MO – To thank volunteers for their dedication and hard work, Sign of the Arrow’s Board of Directors hosted a Volunteer Appreciation event May 2nd at the shop. Sign of the Arrow is a non-profit specialty and gift shop founded by the St. Louis Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi. Volunteers were thanked for the 21,000+ hours of service they provided to the shop over the last year.
Along with the small staff, 80+ community volunteers help run the shop. Allproceeds from Sign of the Arrow benefit area agencies.

Metuchen, NJ – Karen McNamara jumps at any excuse to shop.
So when her neighbor organized an event via Facebook challenging people to spend around $20 in a downtown Metuchen gift shop, McNamara was one of the first to show up. She spent $26.
“I just like to support the businesses in Metuchen,” said the 40-year-old borough resident as she walked out of The Brass Lantern last week with her mom and a bag full of goodies. “I’d like to see more of (the events), and just keep our town alive.”

“In 2006 Perfect Touch went up for sale on Garland Street, so I bought it and combined the two,” Taylor said.
Taylor said she had always wanted to open a shop in Paragould. She said the shop had a bridal registry, baby registry, home decor, art, handbags and many other things.

Grafton, NH – Growing up on a northern Maine potato farm, Deb Dumond learned the value of recycling long before recycling was cool.She remembers dutifully saving pieces of string and bread bags, which made great liners for boots in mud season.
“We recycled everything. Nothing went to the trash or to the dump unless it was totally worn out,” Dumond said.
So it seems natural to Dumond that she would one day start a home-based business with recycling at its core. But operating a business wasn’t in her plans at all just a couple of years ago when it all started.
