Art Cats Gallery Making Major Move with Second Shop in Petoskey
Muskegon, MI – Louise Hopson is planting a little piece of Muskegon’s Lakeside business district in the popular Gaslight District of Petoskey.
After 13 years of serving customers on Lakeshore Drive, Hopson is opening a second Art Cats Gallery at 308 Howard in the heart of the upscale specialty retail district in Petoskey. She hopes to have the 1,750-square-foot storefront open by Mother’s Day.
Art Cats Gallery will remain a year-round business in Muskegon’s Lakeside neighborhood as Hopson operates the two shops.
Due East Celebrates One-Year Anniversary, New Location

Tie Dye Rosie Finds Niche with ’60s, ’70s Memorabilia
Augusta, GA – Rosie Mendez Hyatt got her start selling handmade tie dye shirts and painted top hats at Woodstock ’94.
A lover of ’60s and ’70s memorabilia and Bohemian/island culture, her store, Tie Dye Rosie, on Old Evans Road has reached 15 years in business.
Tie Dye Rosie attracts customers including teenagers, seniors, doctors and lawyers, Hyatt said. Each day, the store plays reggae or island music to set the mood.
“I try to keep something different that you can’t find in other stores. It’s the regulars that have kept Tie Dye Rosie going,” Hyatt said.

Wisconsin Rapids, WI – The log cabin look of Nancy’s Antique & Gift Nook on Highway 13 S. in Wisconsin Rapids, is quaint enough to catch the attention of a passerby.
Nancy Shore, 65, of Wisconsin Rapids, opened the shop in November for a couple of months. She reopened in May and will be open until December.
Shore retired nine years ago after about 20 years as a personal banker for WoodTrust Bank, Wisconsin Rapids. While she and her husband spend winters in Arizona, Short said her ongoing love for antiques couldn’t be kept at bay.

The Christmas tree was won at Christmasworld, the leading international trade fair for festive decorations in Frankfurt am Main.
Byers’ Choice Hosts Craft Show on Mother’s Day Weekend
Byers’ Choice Ltd., makers of the handcrafted Caroler figurines, will support others in their trade by hosting a weekend-long Craft Show next Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m.—5 p.m. and Sunday, May 13, from 10 a.m.—4:30 p.m.
The event, which will feature 70 artisans and craft vendors from across the region, will be held indoors at the company’s Bucks County workshop.

Glenwood Springs, CO – Bucky Moser was in the Artist’s Mercantile & Gallery last Wednesday looking for airbrush paint.
“It’s the only art store around here I can find that has the paint I want and the advice I need,” he said with a grin.
Moser, senior vice president at Alpine Bank in New Castle, said he never considered himself an artist. But that was before he started creating custom bass fishing lures with the help of Artist’s Mercantile owner Steve Legersky.
